Albion Online: Personal Doubts about Blitz vs Veterans Guild

The only thing I would switch with ur build would be group cleanse/move debuff remove/movement speed increase instead of the enemy dispell(slot 2). Reason for this are that your orb on the 3rd slot already removes all positive buffs from enemies but it has a much shorter cd and can effect more than one enemy if used correctly. The new group cleansel in slot 2 also has a much much shorter cooldown. By the way, if you need cheapest albion gold, welcome to our site.

Nah, the Orb has like 15s Cooldown, while the Purge is a 10s CD. (with Omelette and Torch Purge goes down to sth like 7.x seconds)

But anyway, we're still trying to focus on one target where it's absolutely needed to purge def CDs / Healing Potions / HoTs as soon and as often as possible. So the Cleanse may help in some situations, but would not fit into the basic strategy we try to play with the Arcane Staff. And the Orb is really hard to play.

And don't forget the defensive use of Purge. It can also remove Spirit Spear, Great Hammer Buff, Electric Field, ... So much pressure u can avoid by simply purge it off.

Albion Online - The Hitchhiker's Guide to Albion

Hey Everyone, I've been meaning to put together a guide for newcomers for some time now and I finally have gotten around to it. I hope this helps some of you out, and if I've missed something or been incorrect at some point, let me know so I may correct it. This guide will mostly benefit new players, though some more advanced players may still find some interesting tips to use that will improve their experience and gameplay. Some of what I'm including may seem redundant for a lot of us veterans, but when I joined the game I was a little lost and this would have definitely helped me. I hope it may help some of you too!

Re-size chat-box & Customize:
If you select the gear icon in the upper left side of the chat-box window it will give you the option to “unlock” the window itself and you can now click-and-drag the box (must have your mouse over one of the tabs). You can also customize the individual tabs or add new ones, which can show more of less information such as whispers or loot drops, etc.

Quick-looting:
[Shift + Left Click] an item inside of a ‘loot drop' or chest and it will instantly be looted into your bag.

Resize your UI:
This may be old news to a lot of people, but I wanted to share it anyway. Since Albion is made for both PC and mobile, there is the option to have a larger UI for fingers; however, on PC we don't really need this enabled and a larger UI just means you will see less of what's happening in front of you. Click on your character portrait and access the Options menu, and then navigate to the Game Settings tab. Here you will see the checkbox for "Smaller HUD", and select it.

Switch Ability & Fame Progression bars:
By default the fame progression for Albion is shown at the bottom of your screen, while your abilities are displayed at the right. This may be just fine for some people. However, throughout the years there may be other people who have become accustomed to having abilities shown on the bottom of the screen instead. For those individuals, click on your character portrait and access the Options menu. Then navigate to the Game Settings tab. Here you will see the checkbox for "Spells at bottom of the screen", just select it.

Leader-boards:
Did you know that there are leader-boards in Albion? To my surprise I found a lot of people had no idea that there was a way of tracking an individual's progress as well as a guild's. To access the leader-boards, click on your character portrait and select "Rankings". From here you can view anything from the Kill Value from individual players, to the Fame totals of an entire guild. So get out there and make a name for yourself!

More Item Power (Destiny Board & Rerolling):
Almost every player should know that the higher an Item's Power is, the better its stats are. However, there are a couple of ways to improve the Item Power of an item you already have. The first way is through the Reroll feature available in every city from the NPC in the center of town. Doing this gives you a slight chance to increase the quality (normal, excellent, masterpiece, epic, legendary) of the item, thus also increasing its Item Power. The other way is to level another item(weapon or gear) from the same path in the Destiny Board. For example, if you use the Warbow and have it at max tier, or you're at a point where leveling it up again will take quite some time, you may want to start leveling the Longbow instead. This is because the Longbow is in the same category as the Warbow, and will give a (+8)Item Power bonus to each other weapon in that same category (each time the Longbow is leveled).

Albion Online - How to Make Money

As a Albion Online beginner, we have nothing. So we need make money to improve ourselves. This guide will show you some ways, let's take a look.

Gathering
Gathering is one of the most basic money making techniques in Albion but it also one of the most effective. Gathering t7+ resources can net you some large sums of silver. Gathering fiber's I can make around 200k per day at least. The key to gathering is to not be greedy and be effective. However if you're too scared to leave yellow's this is not for you. Gathering is only profitable in red/black zones.

Edit: It has come to my attention that it is profitable to gather t1-2 resources in blue zones and then sell them. I have researched this and it is indeed a strange but good moneymaking mthod.

Crafting
Crafting is a method which if done correctly can net you millions in as little as a week. The secret to successful crafting is buying or getting resources at low prices and flipping them for profit. Use the profit to buy even more resources and keep on leveling you're crafting. Please note that crafting any .2 or .3's for serious profit will require a guild since you will need a massive amount of runes and souls for enchanting.

Refining
Refining is one of the less talked about skills in Albion with few people doing it solely for profit. The main idea behind refining is buying low like crafting and selling slightly higher. For example, I buy 400 6.4 fiber from the ah for 200k I then refine them and sell 430 (Crafting focus) 6.4 fiber for 300k. The only bottleneck for this is the markets. If you do this seriously you will most probably buy out everything within 2 days. (Or at least thats what happened to me).

Investing
Investing, this is where you'll make and lose big money. The most simple method of investing is buying gold when it's low and selling when it's high. For example 3 days ago the gold prices were below 87 and then went up to 97 later. If you had bought 100k gold that would have been 1 mil pure profit. Disclaimer: This is risk and don't risk what you can't lose.

PVP
PVP, it's the core of the game and it's insanely fun, if you're good at it you can make millions a day, if you're bad you can lose millions. I would only recommend pvp as a money making technique for those who have a strong economic base or another main profession to sustain they're losses.

Real Estate
I don't know much about this but I decided to add it here because of what I've heard. According to one of my guildmates, properly placed building can make up to 200k per day from tax's. However be warned the bids to buy property are well over 500k for most places.

Albion Online - Solo Fame Farming Guides

Now I'd like to write a guide on how to survive solo fame farming mobs because It's something I've had very little problem with. Some of you who have read my guides may notice similar tips from the Guides to surviving solo gathering because they also apply here.

Here we go!

#1: Don't be Solo:
I can hear you now typing "But SpooN you sexy man, this is a guide on how to survive SOLO fame farming!"

Yup, you can head out to the red zones alone if you have nobody to fame farm with but it doesn't mean you have to stay alone. There's a very good chance you will run into other players fame farming. If they are alone or in a very small group throw them a "Hello" "want to party?"

Speaking with other players does 3 things.

1. It humanizes you. You're no longer just some other player like the ones we pass by and ignore (or kill) all the time. You've become a person who talks and have created a connection with someone else.

2. It might get you a party which offers you protection from gankers while helping you clear the area more efficiently. If the group is too big then the fame might be too small to be worth it but it's still better than losing all the mobs to them.

3. Maybe make new lifelong friends!
So be a human.

#2: Use your chat as a radar:
Make sure your chat has Player Kill & Loot turned on:
When a chat notification pops up telling you that another player has died it is usually much easier to notice than the bouncing skull of death on the map. Especially if your chat has been inactive (goes invisible) and pops up when someone dies. It will also let you know how that player died which is useful information. If a player was killed by a hellgate demon then it's probably nothing to worry about but if you see "Player X was killed by Player Y" it might be time to start planning your exit.

Loot is especially useful when fame farming as it will notify you when someone collects loot (and what they looted). So if another player/group is in a reasonable proximity of you and collect silver off a mob they killed you will be notified and instantly be aware that other player are nearby. If it reads something that isn't the standard loot drops (silver/gems) then it's probably someones corpse being looted. This is a big red flag.

Note: I THINK it tells you that they are looting off player X's body but I've never payed attention to that part. "player X has collected a T5 Mount" is usually enough for me to know whats up lol.

#3: Save your sprints:
Try not to use your sprint (or any unnecessary ability) in areas you don't have intel on. Sprinting makes noise and most players (especially hostile ones) know this sound and it is another tell that someone is in the area.
Also sprint will be your most useful ability to escape if you do run into hostiles and you REALLY don't want that to be on cooldown while a tackler with a quarterstaff is trying to sprint infront of you to knock you back into his squad so they can have their way with your body... your sexy, sexy body.

#4: Bring a good horse:
This is actually the opposite advice as I gave in the Guide to solo gathering where I recommended bringing inexpensive, low tier gear incase you do end up getting killed.

A good horse will often be the difference between getting away and nearly getting away. I would say T4 horse at the least. I personally bring my T5 horse (His name is Pablo) everywhere I go. He has gotten me out of more bad situations than I can count.

Once you create some distance between yourself and your pursuers, preferably a screens distance away, mount up and GTFO! GO PABLO GO!

#5: Use your map:
Any RTS or MOBA player will tell you that using your map is not just helpful. It is VITAL to your success. In Albion it is no different, your map will often provide valuable info that can save your life (and gear). Not just the death notifier or a red blob of hostiles headed your way but to escape. One of the most common ways I would die while fame farming was that after I had gotten away (created distance, mounted and began my escape) I would run into 1 deadend after another until the hostile players caught up to me and cornered me like a ... um... thing that gets cornered.
It's easier than you might think to panic and just run "that way" because it looks open and is generally in the direction you want to be headed. Take a moment while moving to look at the map and decide on a route you want to take to best escape.

#6: Stop going to dungeons!!!
This has got to be the best advice I can give on the matter and the single biggest reason I want to slap everyone posting threads complaining about "the wall" and not being able to fame farm in red zones.

There's this crazy thing about zones with dungeons in them. You ready? This is going to be mind blowing.... THEY ALSO HAVE OTHER AREAS! Most zones have that have a dungeon area also have some other corner with the same tier mobs. Maybe they don't have bosses or as many mobs in the area but they are less known so much easier to farm consistently AND SAFELY.

Yes other players know about these areas. Yes a group of reds will ride through sometimes trying to find a fight but it is way less likely than going to the spot on the map that everyone can instantly see and recognize as a farming spot. I often spend HOURS in those spots and see a maximum of 4 other solo players passing through. Leaving me an entire farming area all to myself.

Please reader, anytime you see someone post a thread about "the T5 wall" link them this guide and just comment "#6". That's what I'm going to start doing.

Albion Online: What to Do with Basic Weapons

Before we begin with the weapons themselves there are a few quick things to know first. There are three schools of combat that all the weapons fall into, warrior, hunter, and mage. Weapons can do two types of damage, physical or magical. Most melee and ranged weapons do physical damage aside from the magic staffs which all do magical damage. After deciding which combat school to go with, you will find that each weapon in that school has three variations which I just like to refer to as class for example in the most inner ring of the destiny board will be the Class 1 weapons, above them in the middle ring of the destiny board are your Class 2 weapons and finally in the outer most ring are your Class 3 weapons. The power level increases as you go up in class by a small margin, just as the power level increases as you go up in tier for each individual weapon. The power increase is stronger however when you progress upwards in tier opposed to class. The difficulty and costs to craft a weapon also increases greatly when you go up in Class opposed to Tier.

COMBAT SCHOOLS
Warrior - obtained through warrior's forge
Hunter - obtained through Hunters Lodge
Mage - obtained through Mage Tower

WEAPON CLASS
Class 1 - found on the inner ring of the destiny board
Class 2 - found on the middle ring of the destiny board
Class 3 - found on the outer most ring of the destiny board

RULES
Each weapon has 3 to 4 ability slots.
The first three slots are active abilities which are cast using the Q, W, & E keys.
The slot 1 & slot 2 abilities (Q&W), are shared with all the weapons of a a specific tree. [Example: Broadsword > Claymore > Glaive, are part of one weapon tree and share the same Q&W abilities.]
The third slot is for unique abilities which are not shared by any other weapon.
All of the unique weapon abilities use the E key.
Weapons that are two handed have a 4th ability slot which is reserved for passive abilities. These passives are shared between the weapon tree.

LEGEND
Slot 1 = Q ability
Slot 2 = W ability
Unique = E ability
Passive = non-casting abilities.

NOTES ABOUT THE CATALOG
Not all spells available are listed just the ones up to Tier 6.
The stats of the spells are based on Tier 6 power level
Use the stats as a simple guideline or estimate not fact.

Albion Online: Some Useful Suggestions

Hey Folks, I've thought of what I would like very much to see in Albion and made a list of my favorite suggestions. Because I am more a PvE-player and thinking of making the big money most of them are economical nature.

I am playing AO since almost half a year and really love it.

I've read the devs are planning to increase the market transparency (possibly by adding some graphs about the average paid price etc). This and the idea of speculating on the goldexchange course to make some profit have let me come to the idea of introducig speculative trading for all those economyfreaks as I am. Since a real stock market would be kind of strange (which should stocks be shared for ?) I thought of binary options. For those who don't know: binary options are as a game of chance. You bet on the course of a valuable object (e.g. the ressources in circulation) whether it will drop or rise and set an amount of money (predefined values e.g. 50,100,150,200,... silver). Depending on how much people are betting atm. there is a rentability of between 50 to 90% if you win. If you lose, all your bet is lost. This market should have to refer to the global (payed!!!) course, otherwise it would be too easy to exploit the system by floating the local market after having set the option.

I think this would exciten the economylife in Albion and is compatible to it because there always is action due to the global server.

I also would like to see a "servicetab" in the AH to make the market especially for mercenaries more accessible. It needn't be a part of the AH it also could be an external object such as a blackboard. Maybe this could be connected to a mercenaryrating to make the offers more credible. After the payment they should be temporary in the customers guild and be removed automatically, maybe there should be introduced a status "mercenary" which is able to fight for a guild but has a stemguild (e.g the mercenaryguild who is offering mercenaries), to refer to this thread. I think this would help small guilds (who might have money) to be more competitive when it comes to territorries and facilitate getting into Albions world of PvP for them.

Those are changes that I would appreciate. Of course they are very subjective but I think giving my suggestions is better than just waiting for what to come. If I can think of even more suggestions I am going to add them in this post.

Albion Online: Morgana-Themed Furniture

Game Director Robin Henkys tell us Albion Online will have a new update with some interesting things: Morgana-themed furniture! When I first see them, I feel them very cool.

Dropping exclusively from Morgana mobs, you will be able to use these new vanity items to make your island, territories and their surroundings look exactly like a Morgana camp. Not right up your alley? Salvage them for a fair amount of silver instead. You can expect these items to drop in our next content update Darian, which will be released later this month.

But what types of furniture can you expect?

Torches and Standards

Whether it’s to light up your camp, to warn off enemies or to show off your hardcore Morgana-pride, these torches and standards are a must-have for any self-respecting Morgana follower.

Fire Bowls and Campfire

Your cozy camp of demon worshippers is not complete without a campfire or two to warm up the place.

Stone Pentagram

Home is where the demon-summoning pentagram is!

Weapon Crate

Rocking the Morgana faction logo, this crate will keep your items safe from harm.

Morgana’s Army Tent

Make sure people don’t confuse your camp for a pile of things, by adding this majestic tent.

Prison Cell

Pesky adventurers are better off locked away. For their own safety, of course.

Siege Ballista

Last but not least, scare foes away with this majestic siege ballista.

Albion Online Behind the Scenes: The Creation of the Upcoming New World

Learn more about the creation of the upcoming New World, guided by Creative Director J?rg Friedrich, Art Director Marcus Koch and Level Designer Max Mellhage.

At last, the video many of you have been waiting for is here! We are proud to present a first glance at the New World, as well as a look behind the scenes and our creation process.

As Albion Online and its community kept growing, we realized the current world does not fully live up to the vision of what we want the lands of Albion to be. So, we took a step back and started redesigning the entire world map basically from scratch. While this is a huge challenge to tackle, it provides us the opportunity to make Albion truly come alive and give each cluster a unique feel.

The rebuild will include a total of five biomes: Forest, Highland, Mountains, Steppe and Swamp. Each of these environments will have their own particular flora and fauna as well as specific resources linked to it. For example, you will have an easier time finding fiber in the swamps, while an abundance of rock can be found in the highlands.

Hungry for more? Watch the entire video and find out everything there is to know!

Albion Online Update - Darian

The next content update is on the horizon. Darian will bring the Morgana rework, Item Study feature, new spells and more!

Darian is the last content update before the wipe and start of the next Beta phase, scheduled to happen this summer. This upcoming Beta 2 will include the New World redesign and more!

Coming on May 18, Darian contains everything that could be implemented before the large world update. Here is what you can expect to see next week:

Morgana Faction Rework

Surface-dwelling Disciples have been rebalanced and reworked and will come with new group compositions and spells. Morgana’s dungeon crawlers have received a significant boost and an array of new spells and abilities, making high-tier PvE more interactive and challenging.

Faction-themed Furniture: Morgana Mobcamp

Morgana mobs will have a chance of dropping rare Morgana-themed furniture pieces. These pieces are fashioned after Morgana mobcamps, ranging from simple standards to a full-blown siege ballista. If you are not interested in furniture, you will be able to salvage them for a fair amount of silver or sell them on the market.

New Spells and Abilities

A total of 12 new weapons spells will be added to the game.

Charge on Claymore (slot 3)
Fearless Strike on Claymore (slot 3)
Bloody Reap on Scythe (slot 3)
Magma Sphere on Great Fire Staff (slot 3)
Tackle on Great Hammer (slot 3)
Black Hole on Great Arcane Staff (slot 3)
Tornado on Double Bladed Staff (slot 3)
Enfeeble Blades on Demonic Staff (slot 3)
Salvation on Divine Staff (slot 3)
Battle Frenzy on all Axe line items (slot 2)
Sacred Pulse on all Holy Staff line items (slot 2)
Sunder Shot on all Crossbow line items (slot 2)
New Feature: Item Study

With this new feature, you will no longer need to salvage or sell unused items from crafting. Studying them instead grants you fame towards the same Destiny Board unlock that crafting the item would. Studying an item will destroy it and you can only study items that you are able to craft. You can also learn from other crafters’ works, but items need to be at full durability.

Learning Point System Improvement

You will no longer need to gather the first portion of fame before being able to use Learning Points. Instead, you are now able to use them to advance to the next Mastery Level right away. However, the first 20% will cost eight times more Learning Points than the remaining 80%.

Various Fixes and Improvements

A number of bugs and ongoing issues will be fixed, and localization of the game will be improved.

Albion Online Q&A

Just a day after launching its massive Darian patch, Albion Online has posted up a Q&A video and roadmap summary for its summer goals. Darian itself will be the last update before the big beta wipe, and then beta 2 will kick off in July for a few months. Launch, presumably, will land in the fall.

On the Q&A video, Game Director Robin Henkys reiterates that Albion is intending to appeal to hardcore PvP sandbox players as well as a wider audience of "players who are not immediately aligned with the idea of risking everything they’ve played for a long time to someone just killing them." Henkys says that the two groups synergize, create goods for each other, and become targets and allies. He also doesn’t dismiss the idea of future "seasonality," suggesting that it could be fun to pop an Atlantis-style island out of the sea for a month and let players exploit the heck out of it. Check out the whole video below.
